The short version
- The calculator runs in your browser. Your weight, serving size, and fish choice are not sent to our servers.
- We collect only the data we need to answer your messages and understand how the site is used.
- We do not sell your personal data.
The calculator
The calculator does its math on your device. We may save your last inputs in your browser's local storage so the tool is ready next time. This stays on your device. The Reset button and your browser settings can clear it.
Information we collect
Messages. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, and message. We use them to reply and to fix errors you report.
Usage data. We use Google Analytics to learn which pages people visit and how they find us. This data includes pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and referral source. It does not include your calculator inputs.
Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard logs, such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested. These logs help keep the site secure and running.
Cookies and similar technology
Analytics cookies help us measure site use. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Our Cookie Policy lists each one.
How we use information
- To answer your questions and fix data errors.

Third parties
We use a few outside services. Google Fonts delivers the site font. Google Analytics measures site use. Our hosting provider stores site files and logs. Each one handles data under its own privacy policy. If we show ads in the future, ad partners may set their own cookies. We will update this policy and our Cookie Policy first.
Legal bases for EU and UK visitors
Where EU or UK law applies, we process data based on your consent (analytics), our legitimate interest in running and securing the site, and your request when you contact us.
How long we keep data
We keep messages for as long as needed to answer them and fix the issue, then delete them within a reasonable time. Analytics data follows the retention settings in our Google Analytics account. Server logs follow our host's schedule.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. You can also object to or limit some uses. Email contact@dailyukblog.site and we will respond within 30 days. Residents of California, the EU, and the UK may have extra rights under local law, including the right to complain to a regulator.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Parents can use the calculator to check a child's fish servings. If you think a child sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use HTTPS and standard safeguards. No online service is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute protection.
